- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★One of the first community owned power companies in the world. They are still doing a good job all these years later. Prices have risen vs. the national average in recent years but I look for that trend to reverse as the leadership team is top-notch. - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Danville Utilities has the absolute WORSE customer service. The only way they get away with the poor customer service is because they have a monopoly in the Danville area. They disconnected services on a rental property stating that I didnt leave the account number when I left the payment confirmation number. So now they are telling me I have to pay $100 extra to get services restored. Here are the complaints: 1. They rarely pick up the customer service phone. You are asked to leave a message and someone will call you back. If one calls during business hours, someone should either pick up the phone or give you the option to hold! It took me 5 attempts to get a live person! 2. I know for a fact that I left an account number when I left the payment confirmation on the voicemail. I have it recorded on my phone to prove it! However, the customer service rep stated I did not and thats why the services were turned off. Spoke to lady at 908AM on September 8th...didnt get her name. I stated well if thats the case , why didnt someone call me because I left a return number? She stated this is collections and not customer service and then hung up! Extremely rude!! 3. Why tack on $50 to a bill that is 35 days late! Usually a percentage is charged for a late fee! Not 50 bucks! Ridiculous!By Regina Brandon, October 13, 2016
